It's Banned Books Week... what banned books have you read?
The Facebook home of the American Library Association Student Chapter at the University of Kentucky.
ALA exists nationally to better the profession of librarianship and extend library services equitably to all people. Locally, our student chapter of ALA at the University of Kentucky exists to extend that mission to the university.
It's Banned Books Week... what banned books have you read?
This year our conference is fully virtual and asynchronous, so it will remain available for viewing and discussion throughout the end of the semester. Instead of a keynote speaker, we opted to present two interviews with UK MSLS alums and current library professionals, Bailey Eagin and Kat Gillespie. We also are proud to present original student presentations from Caitlin Hemphill and Patsy Carruthers.
Please join the Student Chapter of ALA in the creation of this Spring's SIS Student Conference! All information sciences students are invited to present at our asynchronous, virtual conference this year. Presentations should be short (10-15 minutes) and can be about any topic of your choosing, including a paper you've written, a specific professional experience you've had, an internship you've completed, or any number of other topics. Feel free to get creative! The deadline to submit your presentation will be midnight on April 19th. If you're interested, please submit your proposal to present as soon as possible. You will only be able to submit a presentation after your proposal has been submitted.
Today is School Librarian Day! Thank you to all our school librarians who make a difference in their students' lives each day.
