JAMV Volunteer Opportunities 11/10/2021

Junior Achievement of the Mahoning Valley is reaching out about the numerous volunteer opportunities. Junior Achievement’s proven lessons in financial literacy, work and career readiness, and entrepreneurship are shown to positively impact the lives of young people.
Now more than ever, students need guidance and information on these topics. We rely on our volunteers to help us reach area youth in our four counties: Columbiana, Trumbull, Mahoning, and Ashtabula.
At this time, we are in need of volunteers for the remainder of the 2021-2022 school year.
Our K-5 elementary programs consist of 5 lessons with each lesson taking 30-45 minutes to complete.
Our middle school programs consist of 6 lessons with each lesson taking 45 minutes to complete.
Finally, our 9-12 high school programs consist of 1 to 7 lessons, depending on program, with each lesson taking 45 minutes to complete.
As a JA volunteer, you are provided with everything for the class, including all handouts and a presentation guidebook. For new JA volunteers, we offer training which goes over some teaching tips, breakdown of materials and an overview of the curriculum. We also offer JA program tutorial videos as well.
Please take a look at the link below to view the current available opportunities. Click on each box to see the available times, dates and locations of the programs.

Volunteers needed for Simply Slavic!
For more information contact [email protected] or call at (330) 333-1441.

Simply Slavic was created in 2011 to educate both the region’s large number of Slavic descendants and the community-at-large about Slavic heritage. It strives to fulfill this mission by featuring live Slavic music, folk dance performances, homemade food, children’s learning areas, educational exhibits and workshops, and ethnic vendors. Since its founding, the organization has developed an active regional, national and even international following that follow their efforts to share news and event information of interest to Slavs on their website, as well as on their page.

In preparation for its ninth annual Simply Slavic festival on Friday, June 14, 2019 from 7pm – 11pm and Saturday, June 15, 2019 from Noon - Midnight on Federal Plaza East, organizers are inviting the public to help make the event happen!

Volunteers of every age, skill, and ability are welcome. Help is needed for everything from set up and take down to ticket
sales and assisting in children's areas. Various three-hour shifts are available. Every volunteer gets FREE admission,
two soft drink tickets, and a complimentary invitation to the delicious volunteer banquet to be held in August after the
festival.
