By striking the ball off the toe, you deaden the speed, taking energy out of the putt and giving yourself the best chance of either making it or having it nestle next to the hole.

Next time you’re faced with a slippery, downhill putt, try this simple trick—you’ll be surprised how much control it gives you!

𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝟑 𝐁𝐮𝐧𝐤𝐞𝐫 𝐋𝐢𝐞𝐬 𝐄𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐲 𝐆𝐨𝐥𝐟𝐞𝐫 𝐇𝐀𝐓𝐄𝐒 – 𝐀𝐫𝐞 𝐘𝐨𝐮 𝐑𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐲 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐓𝐡𝐞𝐦?
1️⃣ Hard Pan (Left Image) – When the sand is firm and compacted
- When: After rain or in bunkers with little sand.
- Why: The ball sits on top, and the club can bounce off the hard surface.
- How: Play it like a chip shot—use a lower-lofted wedge, pick the ball cleanly, and avoid digging into the sand.
2️⃣ Standard (Middle Image) – When the ball sits normally in soft sand
- When: Ideal bunker conditions with enough sand beneath the ball.
- Why: You can use the club’s bounce to slide under the ball and create spin.
- How: Open the clubface, take a shallow swing, and splash the ball out using the sand.
3️⃣ Fried Egg (Right Image) – When the ball is buried in the sand
- When: The ball lands with force and gets partially buried.
- Why: You need to get under the ball to lift it out, as there’s no clean contact.
- How: Square the clubface (less bounce helps dig in), take a steep swing, and explode the sand to pop the ball out.
Each lie demands a different approach. Knowing when and why to adjust your shot can save you strokes! ⛳💪

📌 Perfect Ball Position for Every Club & Why It Matters
Understanding the correct ball position is crucial for consistency, clean ball contact, and optimal ball flight. Here's a breakdown of where to position the ball and why it works for each club.
---
⛳ Driver (Front Foot, Just Inside the Lead Heel)
- The driver is designed to be hit on the upswing to maximize distance.
- Placing the ball forward helps create a higher launch angle and reduces spin, leading to longer drives.
---
⛳ 3 Wood & 5 Wood (Slightly Behind the Driver Position)
- These clubs still need a sweeping motion but with a slightly lower launch than the driver.
- A forward ball position helps ensure solid contact while still getting enough loft.
---
⛳ Hybrids & Long Irons (4-5 Iron, 2 Hybrid, or Driving Iron)
- These clubs require a balance between hitting down slightly (like irons) and sweeping through (like woods).
- Placing the ball slightly forward helps ensure clean contact while allowing for enough loft.
---
⛳ Mid & Short Irons (6-9 Iron)
- As the clubs get shorter, they need a steeper angle of attack to create spin and control.
- Placing the ball more toward the center allows for a downward strike, ensuring solid contact and better accuracy.
---
⛳ Wedges (Pitching, 52°, 56°, 60°)
- These clubs are designed for precision, spin, and control.
- Keeping the ball centered helps with a consistent downward strike, making it easier to control height and spin.

Mastering Chipping: Why Club Selection Matters ⛳️

When chipping, choosing the right club can make or break your short game. Each club affects how high the ball flies and how much it rolls after landing. Understanding this helps you control distance and accuracy, leading to better up-and-down chances.

How It Works
Every club has a different loft (angle of the clubface). Lower-lofted clubs (like a 4-iron) produce less height and more roll, while higher-lofted clubs (like a sand wedge) give more height and less roll.

Club Breakdown & Roll Ratio
✅ 4 Iron / Hybrid / Fairway Wood – 10% air, 90% roll
🔹 Why? Low loft, minimal backspin, great for long bump-and-run shots.

✅ 6 Iron – 25% air, 75% roll
🔹 Why? Slightly higher loft, but still designed for long rolls with controlled landings.

✅ 8 Iron – 40% air, 60% roll
🔹 Why? Good balance of height and roll, ideal for mid-range chips.

✅ 9 Iron – 50% air, 50% roll
🔹 Why? Great all-purpose chipping club, good for when you need equal carry and roll.

✅ Pitching Wedge (PW) – 60% air, 40% roll
🔹 Why? Adds more height, less roll—useful for closer pin positions.

✅ Sand Wedge (SW) – 75% air, 25% roll
🔹 Why? High loft, stops quickly, best for getting over obstacles or soft landings near the pin.

When to Use Each Club
🔹 More Green to Work With? Use a lower-lofted club for more roll.
🔹 Tight Pin Placement? Use a higher-lofted club for more carry and softer landings.
🔹 Need a Safe, Consistent Shot? A 9-iron or PW is a great middle-ground choice.

Tip: Always practice different clubs around the green to understand how they behave. Mastering chipping can save you multiple strokes per round!

Struggling with fat shots, thin shots, or weak strikes? It all comes down to impact—and most golfers have no idea what a good impact position actually looks like. Here’s the fix:

What You’re Doing Wrong
- Trying to return to your address position at impact (big mistake).
- Hands are too neutral, not enough shaft lean.
- Weight stays too even instead of shifting forward.
- Club face is open, leading to high weak shots.

What the Best Players Do
- Shaft lean at impact.
- Trail arm bent, lead side stacked.
- Body rotates out of the way for power.
- Low point ahead of the ball, compressing the shot.

The 5-Minute Drill to Fix Your Impact
1. Half Swing Checkpoint: Swing to waist height, making sure the leading edge matches your spine angle (not pointing straight up).
2. Weight Shift & Turn: From that position, shift into your lead side and turn your body through.
3. Feel the Divot: On a mat? Your club should strike ahead of the ball. On turf? Your divot should start after the ball.

Why This Works
- Grooves proper impact mechanics.
- Stops flipping the club through impact.
- Improves ball-first contact, lowering launch and increasing distance.

How to Progress
- Start with short swings, then gradually build up.
- If you lose control, shorten your backswing until you can deliver the club properly.
- Consistency > Speed—don’t rush full swings until this feels automatic.

Try this for just 5 minutes a day and watch your ball striking completely change.
