In Commemoration of Governor Evelio B. Javier Day

Governor Evelio B. Javier was a Filipino politician and lawyer who served as governor of Antique province. He was tragically assassinated on February 11, 1986, amid his fight against the Marcos dictatorship and his advocacy for democracy.

His death helped fuel the People Power Revolution that occurred just days later. Javier, an Ateneo de Manila University graduate and former student council president, was known for his integrity, dedication to public service, and courage in standing up against corruption and injustice.

In recognition of his heroism and sacrifice, February 11 was declared a special non-working holiday in the Province of Antique, Aklan, Capiz and Iloilo through Republic Act No. 7601, s. 1992.

Gov. Evelio B. Javier is famous for advocating patriotism and challenging Filipinos to continue the fight for democracy and good governance.

His legacy serves as a reminder of the importance of standing up for what is right, even in the face of great adversity.

To all the students who bravely represented our school with such distinction, each story written, every broadcast delivered, and all the creative ideas shared showed just how amazing you all are. You put your hearts into this competition, worked tirelessly to hone your craft, and showed everyone what young journalists can do!

We couldn't have reached these heights without our amazing student-journalists who poured their hearts into every story, our incredible teacher-coaches who went above and beyond to guide and inspire, and our wonderful parents whose constant support made this journey possible.

We Are Ready for the Future: Unleashing the Leader in You!

Part 3: Mental Wellness – Building Self-Esteem was an enlightening and nurturing session with Ms. Rosalea Cornelia "U*i" Araneta de Leon, a trained psycho-therapist, researcher, counselor, and educator. She guided our students in understanding the importance of self-esteem and mental wellness through an engaging discussion, her expertise brought a fresh perspective on how students can promote and maintain healthy self-esteem in their daily lives.

Part 2 of our leadership series brought us the timeless wisdom of '7 Habits of Highly Effective People' by Stephen Covey, presented by Mr. Jose Nery "Bub" Ong, CEO of Pueblo de Panay. Through personal stories and real-world experiences, Mr. Ong transformed Covey's principles into practical stepping stones for success. His engaging session provided our students with valuable insights and actionable strategies to develop effective habits for their personal and professional growth.
