ODASCO SPEECH AND PRIZE GIVING DAY, *2024*

Nananom, It is my wish to bring to your attention and for your information that the school is committed to have a Speech and Prize Giving Day this year. To this end, a committee has been put in place to plan and execute the activities. We have had some discussions with the school and have agreed on *27th July, 2024* as the day. To whip up enthusiasm in past students, the committee proposes a homecoming day on Friday, *26th July, 2024* and the speech and prize giving day on Saturday, the *27th July, 2024* .
It's been made clear by the school that no student can be levied toward the funding of the activities marking the day. As a result the school is looking up to us past students to sponsor all activities. The budget will be shared when done and we will be looking to get sponsors among the year groups which are marking major milestones.
The anniversary groups are therefore as follows:
*25th - 1998/1999*
*30th - 1993/1994*
*40th - 1983/1984,* and
*50th - 1973/1974*
They are to contact senior William Wadee and Nana Sammy Boahene for their anniversary sponsorship!
In some schools, this fate would've been the responsibility of a year group, but since we haven't built the culture yet we're appealing to start with an amalgamation of these year groups aforementioned with the support of all the other year groups and even that of individual past students who are able and willing to do so. We will keep you posted on all developments going forward as they unfold. These are the salient points to note so far
1. Friday *26th July, 2024* - Homecoming of past students
2. Saturday *27th July, 2024* - Speech and Prize Giving Day
3. Past Students are to fund all activities
4. Some year groups are being called upon to play the lead role to be supported by all other year groups and individual past students
5. Souvenirs; T-Shirts, baseball caps, mugs and fans will be produced for sale.
6. All past students who paid for souvenirs for the abortive anniversary will be supplied their souvenirs without having to pay anew. We are appealing for your maximum support to make this a success and to make our alma mater proud. Thank you.
